Scott Kauffman has devoted more than twenty years to resolving the IRS and state tax issues facing his clients. He has extensive experience in representing his clients before both Federal and state courts and agencies upon such issues as collections, liens, levies, trust fund penalties, and income, estate, and gift tax liabilities in general. Scott earned his baccalaureate degree from Ohio University, graduating summa cum laude, and his law degree from Lewis & Clark College, graduating in the upper ten percent of his class. While in law school, he was a member of law review and received the American Jurisprudence Award. After graduating from law school, Scott worked first as a prosecutor and then as a public defender, representing his clients on charges ranging from DUI to murder. He returned to law school, earning an LL.M in Taxation and an additional LL.M. in Transnational Business and Taxation, and has been in private practice since receiving his advanced degrees.
